Benefits of NCTAF's State Coalition Network
Since 1996, the National Commission on Teaching and America’s Future (NCTAF) has worked with national, state, and school district partners to develop policies and programs to ensure that all students have access to caring, competent, and qualified teachers in schools organized for success. Collaborating with others who are striving to implement policies and programs that coincide with our goals for quality teaching has always been an important part of the NCTAF strategy.
Partnership with NCTAF offers state coalitions a number of benefits:
- Networking opportunities with others across the country who share a similar agenda;
- Opportunities to gather and share best practices across a national network;
- Access to research conducted by NCTAF and its partners;
- Opportunities to participate in demonstration sites funded through NCTAF partners;
- Useful tools, including the NCTAF policy inventory framework;
- Fundraising assistance, including joint grant writing (when applicable);
- A national voice that underscores the state-level teaching quality agenda;
- Opportunities to contribute to a national conversation on the direction of reforms in teacher development and student achievement.
The state coalition network offers a place for like-minded groups to share agendas and best practices. There is no financial commitment on the part of a coalition.
