The 21st Century School Fund was founded in 1994 on the premise that communities are responsible for creating healthy, safe, and educationally appropriate learning environments.

The Alliance for Quality Education (AQE) is a statewide coalition in New York of over 230 organizations representing parents, children's advocates, schools, teachers, clergy, labor unions, business leaders and others. AQE provides maps of total current expenditures per pupil by school district.

The Public Education Network sponsors a website called: GiveKidsGoodSchools.com, which allows every day citizens to take action and speak out against an education system where many children are still plagued by a system of separate and unequal school systems.

The organization's report What If?, presents a challenge to California leaders to build smarter schools that serve as centers of their communities.

The Wisconsin Atlas of School Finance report provides geographic, demographic,and fiscal factors affecting school districts across the state. The report is available from the Institute for Wisconsin's Future.

The Southeast Center for Teaching Quality is researching how states define "highly qualified" and the capacity of high need schools to respond to the new mandates. The Center believes there is a strong need to understand, from the view of educators and community leaders, what it means to ensure highly qualified teachers for each student and what kinds of resources will be required to do so. The initial findings are documented in three policy briefs.
